The
Indian Economic Service (IES) is the administrative civil service under Grade A
of the Central Civil Services of the executive branch of the Government of
India. IES exam is conducted by UPSC each year. IES selected candidates are
placed as officers in Tariff Commission, Labour Bureau, the Planning
Commission, Central Electricity Authority, Economic Advisers to many
ministries, Forward Market Commission, Planning Board, National sample survey
organization(NSSO) and other allied offices where specialists in Economics are
required
